Everyone knows about the exquisite food of Florence, Italy. But what about the nearby Silver Coast, a small region overlooking the Tuscan sea? Food writer Emiko Davies has spent a lot of time there, falling in love with the simple, heartwarming dishes and fresh produce the area is famous for. There are 80 recipes in this gorgeous book, which also features beautiful photographs and personal stories written by Davies. There’s even a recipe for ‘Acquacotta’, the dish that the book is named after, a slow-simmering soup of tomato, onions and poached eggs. Simple, inexpensive, but delicious. This is what cooking in the Tuscan Silver Coast is all about. Emiko Davies is a food writer who has lived all around the world, but is now based in Florence. Born to a Japanese mother and Australian father, she lived in Beijing as a child and later studied in Providence, Rhode Island. Today, she lives in Florence with her husband and their two young daughters. She has written three books, all of which focus on the food of Tuscany.
